I do, I do, I do-oohhh.
I LOVE NOVEMBER!
Halloween is over, the sweets have been collected and I am trying to ignore them on top of the fridge calling my name. So I thought I would distract myself by making a list of all the things I love about November!
The trees. The leaves! The colours. I love seeing all the leaves around the trees, bright yellows, oranges, browns and reds. So pretty! It makes me want to grab my camera and go and throw leave with the kids. I might even schedule that in for next week.
Autumn food and drinks! You knew this was coming right. PSL - Pumpkin Spice Latte. Pumpkin Spice anything would be fine by me. In fact anything spice would be grand. I love the warm, family friendly food and drink that just feels homely and good for the soul. Soup with crusty bread, stew and dumplings, mulled wine (that's ok in November right?!). Gingerbread. Toasted marshmallows! Mmmm moving on before I get hungry!
Clothes to keep us warm and dry. That sounds so practical haha, but how fabulously practical are Autumn clothes! Snugly warm layers, cosy jumpers and leather boots - because boots are cool. Chunky knit scarves, hats and gloves. I do love a hat with wavy hair. Wearing all those gorgeous seasonal colours and prints, leather and suede, creams and neutrals, those beautiful deep jewel colours too!
The smell of bonfires and fireworks. I don't even know why.
Candles and home scents. November is the time to crack out those Autumn/Winter warmers! Whether you are going to burn it, warm it, plug it it or spritz it on your cushions, NOW is the time. Cinnamon, apple cider, oranges and spices. Yum!
Lazy days at home. In the summer we are desperate to get out of the house but in November I just want to stay home. Heating in, comfy throws on the sofa, wearing out PJs all day long. Cuddling up with a hot water bottle and watching those cheesy 'made for TV' films, hot baths with a good book. Staying home is the best!
There are so many reasons I love November, my son's birthday is coming up at the end of the month and then November leads to December - which means it just gets better and better :)
What's your favourite season?
